Digestive Bitters + Tincture Making
A healthy digestion plays an important role in our vitality. This class will the show the importance of taking a bitter before a meal and allow you to have a tincture ready for the holiday time!
Digestive bitters are an incredibly beneficial way, for most, to maintain a healthy digestion or restore one back to good health. All you need is a few drops of a tincture to taste the bitterness and our incredible body knows to prepare the digestive system for our meal.
Desiree will discuss when to use and not to use digestive bitters and the benefits. The class will cover 6 bitter herbs and how each one varies and provides different benefits on a digestive system and our whole body. She will teach you 2 methods on how to make your own tincture.
Lastly, you will get to create your own tincture combination from the 6 herbs you will learn about to take home! I will provide some light nibbles as bitters stimulate our appetite.

Desiree was the resident Herbalist at the Gig Harbor Apothecary. She is the owner of the Apothecary of Shelton, opening 2026. She received her Advanced Herbalism Certificate in 2021 from Vital Ways Institute. She was inspired to become an Herbalist through her own health journey, receiving a B.A. in Psychology and traveling throughout the US and finding plant medicine in all corners of the country. She enjoys making custom tea blends for people, teaching people about herbal medicine and discussing digestion.
